Spanish was a dumb language to use. Euro spanish all speak enligsh, latin spanish mostly do as well.
If you look at sizes like Twitch, it's not spanish that is the big western language after english, it's portuguese. Because of brazilians who for whatever reason tend to not speak english as much. Portuguese language tubers would have made demand than spanish language ones.
