Most chuubas that I've seen do a casual playthrough of Doom or Doom 2 seem to use the Bethesda 2019 unity port because that's the most marketed storefront version you run into when trying to acquire classic doom. That one is very easy to tell at a glance because the medikits have a green cross instead of a red one. Second most common and the most 'modernized' is GZDoom because it's the first and most reddited suggestion when looking for a 'good sourceport'. It's still all Doom at the end of the day and I'm not that much of a purist but you know, some people are.
