He wouldn't go very strong and start as a casual stranger, then to a friend, then proceed to control their target's perception at that point once the trust is gained. WIthout alerting anyone.
The biggest change concerned is the trust of their target, making the target depend on them, think of them first, making them their priority in the guise of falling in love.. I just think that subtle approach is SO GOOD. Not like other methods are not bad but psychological ones are just so tasteful... or maybe just my preference.
