For example, maybe once she stops fucking every guy you notice her sitting alone sometimes, or she doesn't come to parent-teacher interviews and receives money titled 'living expenses'. Just small things that make it clear what her situation is like. But a proper arc dedicated to Ayame and her problems would probably be the best bet if I wanted it to be a major issue in the story.
