Between stuff like fuel efficiency (Fast planes are hungry planes, and tolerances for expansion/contraction during flight can result in fuel leaks), comfort (Concorde was cramped as fuck and today's fliers would not like that), and sound pollution, it seems expensive for all involved. One thing passengers constantly demand is more room and that's no possible when you need a specific shape.
