the peoples that the cheddar man came from literally got out-bred and conquered by other peoples from the eastern steppes who had migrated into europe and the shared ancestry that modern britons have with them is largely from the continental migrants to the isles and not a direct line of descendants.
either way, even if the mesolithic britons were actually very dark skinned they were still not africans and share most of their morphological features with modern europeans instead of africans
