I actually would agree with you in most cases. But VTubers like Rushia and Lamy have specialized in being pretend girlfriends for lonely fans (that's also why they're the top paid VTubers in the world) and it IS a big deal when their main selling point is shown to be a blatant lie
If a VTuber like Pikamee or Pomu was shown to have a boyfriend, I'm sure some people would raise a stink, but they never sold themselves as being parasocial girlfriends so unicorns have no case there.
Rushia IS (was?) the gold standard of unicorn wranglers so you naysayers have to understand that this is a MUCH bigger deal then you are letting on. Not to mention her boyfriend is apparently a big-time utaite with a fanbase of female unicorns of his own.
