>>54680354>>54680638It's around the height of your third cervical spine. The atlas roughly lines up with your bottom of your nose. So basically your hyoid actually has a lot of freedom of movement, and it's drawn usually in line with the chin because if you orient it where it's most anteriorly and inferiorly it lined up with the chin. The thing is like you mentioned because the tongue is girthy in line with your chin actually is a span of like an inch deep. So when you orient the hyoid posteriorly / superiorly you notice the hyoid is actually quite far back and high up. Hoping this pic of my skeleton model doesn't dox myself
