Yeah, Pyg is incorporating - I damn well understand your worries, though. We very much remember the disaster that was/is CAI, and we're starting a company basically for the purpose of making stuff like the website (that's still in dev btw) easier as well as being able to get donations for model training. The models will be 100% open source - that has not changed and will never change as long as I am part of PygmalionAI.
So, to try and calm the many fears people will understandably have about our future, here's what we're committing to:
Part of our approach will be transparency in what we do business-wise - what funding we get, from who are we getting it from, and what we will do with the funding we receive. Transparency is extremely important in situations like these, and we want to keep everything clear.
The next thing is, as said before, that we will keep everything open-source. This is a condition that we say up front at the beginning of any negotiation for funding. We've turned down deals where people offered us to raise millions of dollars in capital because one of their conditions was acquiring a stake in us or wanting some things of ours to be closed source. I will not let Pyg be sold to the highest bidder just for the sake of compute funding and/or profit.
Finally, we put you guys first. Pyg was born here; /wAIfu/ is our home. If we have no community, we have nothing. Our purpose in incorporating is to try and help the community out by being able to train better models and get stuff like the website finally released and operational for people to use. We're not in this for the money. And I do mean it.
