>>85242224Very insightful stream for Pippa, especially for newer viewers. Kept a decent pace as we went through the book. Nice back and forth with chat. May have been even better if more than 20% of the 3k or so chatters read the thing. It's funny to see how a 1/3rd of the chat bounced after that. Still, it was a pretty lively and fun chat. Would have liked to see more of Pippa's artistic recreations of the story beats, though. It was cute.
Mouse Guard itself seems pretty promising as an all ages book. It has some problems that I agree with Pippa on, though I don't necessarily agree on her solutions. I don't need the extra exposition that Pippa wants. I like to sometimes just be thrown into a new world and discover new things about it over time. Overall, it's pretty clear it's Petersen's first publication but even then it has a solid foundation and vision. Hopefully he builds on it in future books.
The extra yapping was nice. Pippa wears her fascinations and fixations on her sleeve, and it's fun and cute to hear her express it. She clearly has drive as a creative person, and I'm glad streaming culture seems to have come at the right time for her so has an appropriate avenue to channel that creativity. Shame about her relationship with D&D, but I totally agree with her on everything she said. In regards to Phase Connect and D&D specifically, I agree that PC just doesn't have the kind of people who could or would carry even a one shot stream. Normal board games are more suitable for them.
Overall, the energy pretty nice all around. Good waves of coziness and enthusiasm. Glad I managed to sneak away from irl stuff to be there from the start. Can't wait for the next book club. Pippa love!
Also Pico is always so fucking cute. My god. She really is a flashbang.
