People like watching an actual anime girl streamer for once but they don't go full autistic "oh nyoo my immersion is ruined" because she stopped pretending to be actually 1,000,000% 2D for a second. She plays a character well. The character is fun to watch for a regular ass Japanese person who is not averse to anime and the streaming schedule is convenient. Mystery around her debut and the debut itself made her flavor of the day and then numbers started begetting numbers. In other circumstances she would have been streaming to 5k people but she isn't. There is not much else to it.
