>>7540446Nah. Social anxiety is characterised by catastrophisation by the way of automatic thoughts. eg. "I forgot to say hello to my boss as he passed by my office this morning, I'm sure he noticed, I'm sure he hates me know, dammit I'm going to get fired I may as well start packing my things now".
Autism has more to do with an insensitivity to social cues and an overall poverty of thought. When I'm having a conversation with someone I'm focusing on things like the amount of eye contact to maintain, how's my posture, what I'm doing with my hands and legs (vis-a-vis body language), trying to keep track of the conversation itself because I don't really care what they're saying- and to think of what kind of responses are acceptable. Feels like being a robot trying to do a human impression, and it comes off about as well, and it's about as exhausting as it sounds.
No woman wants a guy that can't maintain a conversation with her. This is why something like only 6% of autistics ever marry.
