Last year it stayed like this for a solid week because people realized that having the timer way fucking high was ridiculous and only got that way if a bunch of people spammed donations at the same time. Last year's subathon could have done this for the whole time if people paced themselves from the start but people are dumb and think they have to load up at the start (and in response to Bubi / Monke commands) and then they peter themselves out in the first half while the serious donators maintain it to the end.
