JOPs will buy stuff like that anyway. Even if they do not use it, just for collecting it. No matter how expensive it is, again, just for collecting it.
The concept of "merch shrines" does not exist in the west barring a small niche of ultra-weebs imitating JOPs. And like Japan 20 years ago, they are made fun of by the mainstream.
Hololive merch as a whole is also far more widely available in Japan compared to the west.
But stuff like "acrylic stando!" which are the "staple merch" in Japan don't have that many buyers abroad.
In general, the EN audience is a lot less "parasocial" than the JP one, resulting in reduced revenue.
