>still prefer the real robot war narrativesAs much as the politics in anime confuse me and I prefer the turn-your-brain-off action fun ones, I did enjoy War in the Pocket (totally not only because of the cute shota Alfred). It really set in the feeling of what a war is like and despite it having fun parts, it ended in a way that makes you think "damn, war is really serious".
