>>36155102He wants to be perfect. Not for his own sake, he's scared of releasing subpar content and being rightfully called out on it being subpar.
But what he needs to understand, if he at all cares about the "idol" stuff, is that growth is a major part of the appeal. I don't want the superstar that comes in a shiny package with a million dollar deal before I even hear about the person, I want to witness the journey, he needs to get over that perfectionism and begin to put himself out there more, allow himself to be vulnerable.
It's hard, but he needs to frame it in his mind as "for the sake of my channel and my viewers". It's not putting out subpar content he's not happy with, the journey is GOOD content. It was a lot of fun seeing Axel go from the first scuffed no breath karaoke to singing for hours and feeling like he could go on if he didn't have to save his voice for other stuff.
The fact that the first one was scuffed and somewhat low quality didn't linger on anyone's mind, you don't see him being criticized for being good in recordings but shit in live singing today, he completely blew past that image and is just "the guy who sings nice". But that wouldn't have happened if he kept waiting for the offstream reps that never came before he felt comfortable doing singing streams.
He has the right mentality when he says something like "I want to learn to write my own songs, maybe not the first couple, but I want to start writing my lyrics", but if he applies the same perfectionist mindset of "I'll start once I'm good", he's ngmi.
The idol experience is messy and full of drama, it's not a shiny road full of success. The live concert is the payoff to all of the struggle, being Mr. Perfect in every public appearance is actually detrimental to the experience.
