>>77058576If someone is pirating something then they weren't intending to buy it in the first place. Yet if they do pirate it and think it's good, then they'll shill it to others for free and possibly even buy it themselves. This isn't a theoretical situation as it's something I have done myself.
It's the same thing with memberships. It encourages them to chat more and return to the channel which of course helps with algorithm shit and they might renew on their own later if they like the membership content. Except with this the streamer is still getting full payment for their "piracy" so they're not even losing anything.
