>>85553537The experience of someone going from Termina to Funger is quite interesting. If you get into the lore you see how crazy it is. It's kind of Bloodborne like with its worldbuilding, occultism, dreams/reality themes, and ultimately Eldritch/cosmic horror. It's even crazy how there are old gods hidden in plain sight and present in both games but only hinted at in symbolism, off hand comments, lore documents and even the code. Never named in game directly but extremely relevant to the big picture. If you're not that big into lore, Termina is a fun survival horror turn-based rpg that should be treated like a roguelike because it is as punishing as it is and random loot+starting character differences means you can have insanely cool runs!
>>85553623Oh very true. Even with both games the hardest difficulties don't allow you companions outside of necromancy and blood golems. But companions are very powerful because like any turn-based game including D&D, action economy is king, so even the worst companions like ghouls are the better than being solo. Abella is basically easy mode though, makes surviving Termina easy but at the cost of another character's story and interactions if you do recruit her. Good luck with lectures! Frap does good work, learned a lot from him, all bones jones, and recently mauthe doog and shadow the axotyl for lore after I finished my spoiler free first runs of both games, plus the discord. Actually fun place with lots of discussion, helpful people and silly memes. Plus Miro/orange is always there watching and chiming in with stuff and updates. Good luck with the lectures too, Crew!
