American culture is a high amount of individually to the point of kicking your kids out at 18 it puts too much emphasis on the individual growing up so they learn to only really give a shit about themselves and think others are jealous and out to get them. compare this to the rather tight familiar unit of the average Hispanic. While not every single Hispanic household is perfect, they generally follow the same rules and outline. Family is one of the most important things,more than the individual and to rely on each other when needed but not too much to the point you diner them. it's why you heard stories of big families in houses, mothers don't want their kids to leave until they get married because why spend half your paycheck on rent when you could be here at home with me and I give you tasty food please don't leave me son I love you
