We're more honest with each other because we're not made accountable for our words in ways you'd see in facebook or twitter. 4chan posseses this underlying sense of comradery as gathering point of the dregs, lone wolves, eccentric and pariahs.
It's these traits that obstruct discussion as much as it facilitates in bringing out our most inner passions, shames, misdeeds, failures and aspirations. I'd be hard pressed to find somewhere else that houses such extraordinary characters.
