The door to your tiny apartment creaks as you open it. Tiredly, you stagger through the entry and kick off your shoes. Your night was stolen. If the boss wants to take you out to drink then you have no other choice than to comply. “I’m home” you shout out, but no one responds. You walk through the darkened hallway and into the single cramped room. Elira, her back towards you, is typing away angrily on her phone. A convenience store meal sits completely empty on the table. She’s definitively complaining about you in Discord.
“Sheesh… You’re late.” She states, sarcastically.
“Sorry. I went drinking with the section manager.”
Elira doesn’t answer. She’s obviously upset.
“Listen. It’s part of the work. How do you want me to pay the bills?” you say, sitting behind her.
“Come on. You’re always making excuses; you were supposed to spend the night with me.”
What a dork.
“If you had more streams with superchat enabled I wouldn’t have to work so damn hard every day” you retort sarcastically.
“Screw you!” Elira spins around and her glare is filled with anger.
Damn this dragon. Her stuck up attitude. You can’t take it anymore.
“No, screw deez nuts! All you do is sit on your sexy ass all day playing genshin! All the money from your gig goes there! How about you stop being such a dead-beat and contribute for once? At least play something else!”
*wham*
Your face stings. A flash of movement from Elira. Her hand trembles as she shoots daggers at you with teary eyes. It hurts – not physically, but emotionally. It’s as if she just spat on the hard work, you do every day for her sake. Your vision clouds over the anger. You shove Elira to the floor and pin her to the ground. You mutter under your breath: “One eyed NEET dragon”.
