Perhaps that sort of thing might be also taken as a display of their true feelings towards their fans, but in Fauna's case there's more evidence to the contrary in the form of her actual streams. It's hard to claim she hates her fans when she's so chatty, calm and easily humoured with her chat and has a decent amount of zatsu streams. It's also hard to claim she was being mean when she constantly takes apologizes and thinks over what she says and the feelings of who she talks about - even with fictional characters. A more credible theory is that Fauna worried too much about people developing too strong of a parasocial relationship and wanted to establish a boundary for the sake of those who wish to immerse themselves in a fantasy instead of confronting life.

You can argue that her statement was unprofessional or inappropriate, but you need more than that if you want to prove that she said those things dismissively or maliciously or attack her character. And if her character remains unaffected or you don't buy into gfe stuff in the first place, then why should your viewing experience be any different?

Even though situation 1 seems like something she would do, I think it would paint her as the bad guy. Right now, twittertards and redditors are literally on her side for obvious reasons. Going with that route might paint her as some manipulative woman. If she REALLY wanna play her cards right, situation 3 might be a good call at least. Those poor fandeads...
