it's not bad, with LA you gotta realize the worst things are hidden away in their own neighborhoods because they don't actually want attention
petty crimes exist so try and go out in daylight and follow basic rules (pay attention to your surroundings, give sketchy people room, don't wander down random streets)
the concert venue and decent hotels will be in ok places. i think the most shocking thing you'll see is the seething mass of homeless living rough but honestly they've never screwed with me directly despite spending a lot of time in long beach
LA is actually p comfy depending on how you do it because the japs have set up a few areas where you can get a decent meal. also pastrami burgers, an LA specialty
