>>55072322actually I think my art rocks
some people are just born with innate talent
and shit tastelolI think art is an expression of inner emotion that overthinking and adherence to technique or 'rightness' can only stifle, I spent way too many years learning technique before realizing that music is about love and everything else is meant to be in service to self expression
my playing improved a lot after I started 'listening' to what I was doing rather than analyzing it
practice is necessary but if you don't know why you make art then you aren't prepared to put your soul into it, imothat's what really makes something 'good'
once I stopped searching for perfection in my own work I also started noticing a lot more the mistakes other artists make, the best pieces can be 'wrong' in countless ways but they always ace the 'self expression' component.
I was frustrated because I dislike Ina's self criticism, and while I don't agree with the blind "Ina's art is always amazing" worship from chatters, I wonder what 'ideal' she's even shooting for because it is unclear to me what technical aspect of her art is lacking
Could be because I prefer artists like Yoshitaka Amano who seem to aim more for expression than perfection, I like Ina's art but if it is missing anything it's missing expression not perfection
