Ugly, evil, conniving women have been referred to has "hags" (or other feminine slurs) across many mediums, particularly old ones (witches, rude elders, etc.) while those approaching the age were referred to as "Christmas cake" (see picrel)
It's never really been anything outside a gag with people feeling insecure about their age. Marine made it her thing
(though it's hardly just a "gag" considering her age) so it simply flooded into vTuber spheres as a funny meme (or marketing point for some)
