As much as I want a passionate Pomu gf every otaku girl I've encountered just uses me to vent about their miserable life. It's pretty depressing how they can act all cheerful in public and with their friends on social media but the more you try to get close to them the more they just use you as an emotional sponge to unload all their misery onto. Makes it feel like a waste of time getting close to someone ostensibly to share hobbies with them when they make it clear they actually hate every aspect of their life that you enjoy. It's honestly worse than being with a normie since they at least feign interest in your hobbies.
