They even say here that it wasn't a content filtering or mod related change, so this was either really sneaky wording or a straight lie. I say that because not wording it differently leaves them with plausible deniability where they can blame those specific issues on "having to switch to a less powerful model due to traffic."
based on how they keep saying "we're so popular now, that's why our site/bots are breaking" this month leads me to believe that the first excuse was also a lie.
