One of my worries about this series was that the delivery of the lore would be a bit too heavy-handed at times and read more like a Dark Souls item description than anything. I would like to say I have done a decent job of avoiding that, most of the time. I had considered having Shion mumble and speak out loud to herself to deliver that information but didn't really like the way it was forming in my head. It felt a bit unnatural, for someone who tells herself information she already knows, and the way you speak to yourself when thinking isn't the same as explaining it to someone. This might just be a case of a necessary evil but I'll keep this in mind in the future.
