>>34441809Ah, this brings up the "pre-thread populations" conversation. Before a thread exists, what is the state of its population? For some, it's straightforward. Before /morig/ was its own sovereign thing, it would just have been a province of the /hlgg/ empire. But to take your nation as an example, what was the status of /vrt/'s population? There's a few ways to go about this, and I think they're all compatible with the hyperwar:
Preface 1: I'll use the approximation that anons are represented by populations of unspecified and varying size in-universe.
Preface 2: I don't think the hyperwar was ever intended to set everyone now in /vt/ against /jp/. If you were there, the war was mostly between /hlgg/ and the rest of the board. The other threads could have been peaceful bystanders, or supporting the /jp/ threads, or any other stance that the writers desire. Why did they end up in /vt/ anyway? Because splitting the board was a blunt measure that affected many people, even /jp/ allies, Similarly, because it was a blunt measure, some people were left on /jp/, explaining why some chuuba threads still exist there.
First idea: those populations would represent anons who browsed /jp/ and later joined /vt/ and founded /vrt/. If they were just anons browsing /jp/, they could be in any thread; some might have lived in lands under the control of JP threads, others in /hlg/, and others could be anons who don't really belong to a particular thread. Thus, under this interpretation, you could say the anons of /vrt/ lived in /jp/ but weren't really affiliated under any thread, were transported during the Board Split, and eventually coalesced into the nation known as /vrt/. I think this would be most accurate, and works for most threads.
Second idea: the history of the people of /vrt/ begins after the split. Before that, this territory was scarcely populated by unaffiliated groups. That's the simplest option. It's basically like option 1, but you ignore the added complexity of considering the population prior to the formation of the thread.
Third idea: the people of /vrt/ were on Offsitia prior to the split. Under the current interpretation, Vitubia was created as a copy of Japonia during the split. To accommodate idea three, we'd have to change this to say another copied realm already existed, let's call it Offsitia. This is where for example, people of /vrt/ could have been. During the split, what would have happened is that a copy of Japonia would have been fused with Offsitia to create Vitubia. I think this would be allowed under our metaphysics, but it does feel a bit strange to have a realm which does not represent a board of 4chan.
Fourth idea: any kind of combination or variation of the above.
