Thats well above average. Considering he looks like a shorthair I'm guessing he's pulling size from a semi-longhair since those have some hefty sizes.
He can't be a norwegian, ragdoll or siberian. They top out around 10-12 inches tall.
Maine Coons are well in that ballpark with males getting anywhere between 10 and 16 inches.
He could be a British shorthair though they grow between 12 to 14 inches.
They also come in black and are noted for their intelligence, robust health and laid back temperament.
Also they're British.
So my money is on a British shorthair.
