>>50432817I think you can effectively blame NijiEN for this. The community in general wasn't this antagonistic against males before Luxiem. The way nijiEN handled injecting male vtubers and their twitter + china fanbase into a previously girls only fanbase was atrocious.
Everyone saw how "cucked"* the lazusidya fans became and said "I don't want that shit to happen to me".
The funny thing about this is that the lazusidya bros were the best groomed audience to accept the males. They knew they were watching nijisanji, they had their girls collab without any issue with males from other branches before. Most of the girls PLs were indies that collabed with males. But you can't just turn your branch into Jersey Shore overnight and expect people to not be angry.
*I'm using cucked in several ways here, besides the obvious "he is fucking your oshi". The girls and their fans were second class citizens for months/a year. The influx of female viewers into fanspaces made it so gender wars were fought often (at a numeric disadvantage) whenever male viewers wanted more for themselves and the female talents.
