>>64585954It really depends with what you're working with, a darker brown or red can give a softer look for your artwork from my own experience. They can also give better levels of control on the contrast on your piece as well.
I haven't done much traditional inking since college though, but I tend to stay away from just black and go for a most maybe a dark blue or brown when drawing.
