And yes I am absolutely conflating accepted diagnostic criteria and tiktok vernacular, but I do that because there is no difference anymore. I CAN make a claim like that, and because colloquial definition will absolutely usurp accepted standards in a pseudoscience field, there is nothing you can reasonably do to stop me. Saying "that isn't true" is also just not true, go actually look up how little it takes to be diagnosed as slightly autistic these days. Exposure therapy can cure 80% of those symptoms. Is that a good solution? probably not for everybody, but the fact that we aren't actively trying to tell people who aren't actually autistic that they can be cured via normal processes is only going to degrade the meaning of the term more.
