I think I am suffering ten times more than you do when I watch Kanata’s stream. My anger and sorrow update each time I see her talking about her mom. I would have broken in their house and slapped her mom if she’d been my niece or something. I might have tried to bereave her of the custody if I could. In the comment section of some clip ignorant kids were saying that she was an angel and her mom was some archangel straight out of the Old Testament. Shit, how stupid can children be? It’s not anime, but vtubers.
But at the same time I, a mature adult, know her mom would be also one suffering from her problems. Obviously she’s driven by her morbid obsession. I don’t know it’s from her failed marriage or something. I just feel sad when seeing those relationships. What I anticipate is that someday she would try to impose some arranged marriage on kanata, because she may think her daughter makes mistakes if she does things on her own.
In general it’s likely to be depressing to see Vtubers talking about their families. There’re exceptions like Mori or Subaru, of course.
