>>49490522>>49492407>>49493086If I’m being honest, I’ve never really had much of a problem with lore to begin with since the chuuba is often free to play into it or just not if they want to after debut. They don’t ever really seem to be bothered by it and seem to enjoy it. I personally do like the contrast between JP being whatever but having some gen theme, ID being whatever random things with no gen themes and EN being stupid chunni whatever the hell but being somewhat constraint as a branch. The fan stuff that comes from it cool too
Though I do have to admit, my favorite style of lore second to Myth’s is definitely HoloX styled lore. It’s the gen theme is conceptually cool and and it’s every easy for them to be their own random characters that fit in because the a “secret underground organization” could consist of anything. So it’s not like they all need to be a specific thing since the gen theme take care of that. It’s easy to explain and pitch as a concept too. I guess the closest to that is Myth’s lore which pretty much does the same thing. Though with Myth the individual themes all had some through-line of relation to one another that could make almost an pair have it’s own cliche which is neat from a creative aspect. Though I guess with HoloX they do “feel” like like a gen when they’re together. Or I guess what I’m trying to say is that HoloX’s vibe has a stronger sense of togetherness to me
With the addition of a new all I would hope for is some loose connection that keeps the branch consistency of EN. It doesn’t have to be god shit or anything like that. It could be something vague and loose like monsters, elements, rpg classes, fantasy races, anything. Hopefully something toned-down closer to Myth’s style. Myth-like “lore”/theming with the “feel” of HoloX could make for one of the best gens in any branch (if those 2 things were the only factors and nothing else)
But it’s probably taking some time to find people who could fit said roles on top of living in convenient places for travel for off-collabs and concerts on top of probably having a good work ethic and track record. That and being less likely to quit. I’d hope they’d maybe hire whoever first and then have them have a hand in their own characters though, with minimal reasonable restrictions. If they don’t announce EN gen 3 by EN’s concert then I’m just going to assume they’re trying to manage what they have now before adding more when they weren’t ready and risk dropping the ball.
Either way lore to me is either a plus or nothing. Hardly ever feel negative about it so I didn’t really think people would but I guess it’s understandable too. Omega’s design was wasted and what a lot of people thought was going to be EN’s A-chan becoming A-chan instead is hilarious though
