I'm watching Death Note for the first time and it's pretty entertaining but Light seems oddly stupid and has nearly gotten himself caught in the first few episodes (although I suppose it might be boring if he used the Death Note intelligently).
It also doesn't seem like he has a very coherent plan for improving the world. Killing criminals? But he can only kill the ones who have already been caught by the police. The only good thing he did was stop a few people during their crimes.
