It leads to internal cannibalization of viewers, and may even potential burnout for some people (like me) who are just exhausted by all the debuts. I haven't given any new gens a try since XSoleil, and even then, the only member I watch now at all is Pomu.
Plus, it definitely doesn't help that the EN vtuber bubble has deflated considerably since its initial boom.
