The version I linked above or the newer criterion rescan/remaster. Oddly, the newer rescan seems to look worse in several ways, plus the newer version has worse subtitles.
The movie isn't available to rent on youtube, so they'll probably rent it from amazon. I rented it there to check which version it is and it's the non-criterion version. I tried to rent from
amazon.co.jp directly, but I don't have a japanese credit card. I'm assuming that the version they use in both countries is the same, but that's not a safe assumption of course.

The criterion version is 01:38:38 and the other version (including the amazon version) is 01:38:21, so you may use that as a point of reference. The time shift excluding company logos and such is 17.8 seconds.
You can also purchase it on youtube or watch it with a hulu or D+ subscription, but I don't know which version it is. You can tell which version it is by if it the MGM lion logo is soulless or not.
