It sounds like it comes two places, one of which is obviously frustration with the game. The second comes out in a way some partners in rough patches do: When met with a difficult problem, instead of focusing on the specific issue, one partner (or both) use the moment as an excuse and segue to make general complaints about the other. I've seen it plenty of times.
Experienced it too. The couple hasn't set an environment where one or both partners can comfortably approach each other with issues, so it ends up coming out at weird times like this. Mari did that at the end of her spiel.
Sometimes this stuff just blows over, no biggie. But usually it's a sign that something in the relationship needs fixing or else it eventually will end. You know, it gives me some more perspective when Mari the other night talked about how she grew to love idols. Part of it was because she loved seeing how supportive their fans are, then asserting those fans would make great wives and husbands because they care about someone other than themselves. Lil' sis just isn't one for ego.
