Nature Anon here. I followed the Axel doormouse and found it's mate! A Shinri doormouse. Shinri doormice and Axel doormice cross breed very often do to their similar color palettes. Studies show Axel doormice can't tell the difference between a Shinri doormouse and another Axel doormouse however Shinri doormice know the difference and simply do not care if their mate is the same as them or not. Shinri doormice are very clever but care free species. They can problem solve easily but would rather sleep and eat seeds. Unlike the fruit only diet of the Axel doormouse the Shinri doormouse's diet is a bit of everything they'll eat anything they can get their paws on from fruit to seeds to bugs and even meat they care not food is food to them. This fact can result in them becoming nuisances as they are too smart for normal mousetraps and can and will get into everything however they are not very proficient breeders produced only one or two pups every few years so being overrun by them is very unlikely.
