Hello /swarm/, I’m putting together something to track Neuro’s progress toward full automation, basically how much of what she does is handled by Vedal vs by Neuro herself. You know Vedal’s said multiple times that the end goal is for Neuro to basically run herself. I’m trying to be as objective as possible with this, basing it on what’s actually been shown on streams or confirmed by Vedal rather than pure speculation, like "Is Neuro smarter this stream?" or "Neuro feels lobotomized now".
So I’m going back through every dev stream from the start, noting every update, promise, or feature Vedal mentioned (fulfilled or not), and using that to see how much she’s actually advanced over time. I’ll start with a baseline of how she was around Dec 31st, 2022 (since that’s about two weeks after debut, when we had a good picture of her early capabilities), then do one for 2023, 2024, and so on.
I’ve also come up with a tier system for different domains of automation, stuff like stream micro-autonomy, persona consistency, content generation, collaboration, physical embodiment and so on, each with its own “automation percentage.” The goal is to see which areas are progressing fastest, which are stagnant, and what kind of updates actually move the needle toward autonomy in each tier.
So, I wanted to ask The Swarm a few questions:
How would you define autonomy for Neuro? Is it about Vedal doing less manual work, or about her making more unsupervised decisions?
Which kinds of updates actually push her toward more autonomy, ands which don't? Of those that don't, are they necessary?
What features or milestones do you think would mark big jumps in autonomy?
Do you think full “VTuber automation” is actually achievable in her case, or will there always need to be a human handler like Vedal in the loop?
Should I treat higher level stuff (like business management or long-term brand planning by Neuro herself) as serious tiers, or keep it limited to the streaming side?
Trying to keep it grounded but still speculative enough to imagine where she could end up in the near future.
