When I had free time i'd watch whatever vtuber was streaming usually gura in the living room. My bud's then-gf would start joining me and asking a bunch of questions about how vtubing worked. Eventually she would start watching them on her own and even got my bud and I to help her get a streaming setup and basic model to try vtubing herself.
Cut to almost 5 years later and she's now a 4view indie on twitch. Mostly does music, GFE asmr, etc but she's really successful, so much so that my bro was able to quit his job and just help her manage things like merch, con appearances, a bunch of the little things in the background while she streamed. Shit, the only reason I even got back on my feet and have the career i'm in now, is because my friend's gf (now wife since they got married recently) helped fund some of my I.T certificates and got me a good paying job via connections she had.
They're happier than they've ever been, and I'll always be grateful for the help they've given me, but I feel a little guilty sometimes. She is very much a GFE vtuber despite being in a loving marriage, and has a dedicated fanbase that i've even seen post about her in a few /vt/ generals.
