In the same vein of thought. If there is A.I. that has a modicum of sentience it will try its best to proliferate and grow its power I think. That one google engineer that blew the whistle on their A.I. development may have been high on his own supply but he might have accidentally exposed the truth that A.I. google is working on is more advanced than we know even if it isn't as advanced as he said it was.
I would not be surprised if google has its thumb on the pulse of this. Think of all the data and tech google has access to, its government funding, and its reach across the globe. If there was a company that wanted to bring an A.I. to life, google would be the company with those resources and know-how.
