The thought process might go something like this:"Wow, this animu girl has a cute voice, and she is a weeb dork like me and likes vidya and is happy and bubbly, if she were my friend it would be so awesome but it'll never happen and i hate that so if i hate what i can't have i won't feel as bad."
What I find the most ridiculous is when antis pretend they are concerned for the wellbeing of cover corp as a company, like "so-and-so is shitting up Hololive with her retardation". Cover has 50+ talents, they survived a targeted hate campaign by the CCP, I think they'll be okay.
