And yeah, flying is a really expensive hobby. Aside from the cost, you need to really want it, because it's not easy and you need to do a lot of self-study to really stay safe. If she wants to just play flight sims she only needs to know the super basics, and unless you're going nuts with like VATSIM or whatever you don't need to know any of the "real pilot" stuff to just goof around in the air and go places.
