Otsonny!! Ahh, starting out your morning by checking out what may be one of the most complex characters in fighting game history... as energizing as a cup of coffee. I had fun watching sonny mess around with That Man today, I thought he would enjoy the combo potential that comes with asuka's multitude of spells but I think he was just overwhelmed more than anything else which is understandable too. I think doing research off-stream will be more than beneficial and probably necessary if he plans on playing him more haha. After about half an hour of getting a feel for his kit, sonny took Priest Sugita online to face off against viewers. First couple matches against briskadets were actually pretty funny, how are you gonna lose to a guy mindlessly spamming with a character he picked up 20min ago? The goldlewis player that he fought afterwards put him in his place though, I think this sunburn person has made appearances in past streams too. He'd get a win off them in a later rematch, just not as asuka. Some time later he switched off to ram and would also play sol and a bit of faust to even the playing field a bit. Had some good plays and wins today, his ram is always fun to watch and he's so damn cute both when getting his ass beat by characters he hates like axl, and when he's styling on someone else. The tourists who stop by to play him are almost always good sports and it's cute when they send little donos or leave comments thanking for the matches afterwards. Overall it was a fun stream! It's a little hard for me to tell how he actually feels about asuka, he says he feels good to play but also seems almost exasperated by the complexity and micromanaging required to play him. He's got an interesting kit for sure, very befitting of his character and how long it took for him to be playable. Since god knows when he'll stream strive next, I look forward to seeing the lineup of season pass 3 KEK. Nice job closing out on a win!
Zatsu later was also pretty confy, I was still very reliant on those kind enough to do rough TL though. Woah, his first JP zatsu was exactly a year ago today! He should stick to doing these every month, I think sonny is legit the only thing motivating me to keep up with reps... God I'm afraid to open anki right now. It was nice listening to him talk though! He says he thinks he's gotten worse at JP but I certainly haven't noticed any obvious decline in his proficiency... in any case the JOPs in chat obviously didn't mind either, it's good that they come out in droves to give him no shortage of things to talk about, even the supa reading was almost as long as the actual zatsu portion. Language was a pretty big topic of discussion today, from japanese onomatopoeias to particles to accents, most of which went over my head but it's funny when you kind of have his voice in the background and suddenly hear "Water" in american english or some other phrases. Again, the threads and live tags are more helpful than me here. Food also came up because of course it did, why wouldn't it? I don't think that's a bad thing, mind you, even if sonny acknowledges that a topic he defaults to. His new knives, sushi, mentaiko, udon... ah I'm getting hungry now. It was also really nice to hear him talk about his family a little here and there too (or even just his own youth), he's generally pretty private so I cherish every little tidbit. Overall it was a good time, it was good he could get his own reps in. After he mentioned using "ne" a lot because of rikiya koyama, I'll never unhear it. It's cute though. He's cute. Thanks for the comfy streams today sonny, I'll have to get back to my reps soon. I hope to see you play street fighter 6 soon since I've seen some pretty funny stuff come out of it on SNS, and I can't wait for another super long Zelda stream later (glad I could stock up on refreshments this time).
