fruits vary in sugar and what else they have in them. the major sugar fruits are grapes, figs, apples, etc. (these are your "candy" fruits) cherries and plums are actually high on the list, but you'd need to eat A LOT more than you think for it to be an issue. you could argue against bananas or watermelon or similar things, but you can eat your fill of most fruits and never have problems.
berries are literally free. love me oranges. love me starfruit. there is literally nothing wrong with eating fruit.
