But if you actually want to be in good/great shape, not just okay shape, then it will be very different. The chat basically doesn't apply to anyone who lifts, since it would classify them as obese. Neither BMI nor the weight number itself are the important thing. The important thing is reaching the ratio of body fat to muscle that is optimal for whatever functions you want the body to carry out. For people who don't do anything unusual, and just need the body to do things like walking to your car and not dying of a heart attack at 35, it's more or less sufficient to oversimplify it as "weight" but that leads to the general public being confused, and I fucking hate it.
