I think at first Magni would just brew some potions to help him get to sleep easier, but for one reason or another, they're not working as they should. So Magni, kinda miffed at this, accuses Axel of not taking them correctly and demands to watch over him. Having the presence of another person in the room with him, and sleeping in a warm, herbal scented, bed does comfort Axel quite a bit. Yet, even then he's unable to retain a proper rest.
Waking up in the dead of night, Axel notices Magni slumped over his desk, head nestled in the crook of his arms. Ah- he feels bad for taking Magni's bed,,,maybe,,,they could just share?
Collecting the thin alchemist in his arms, Axel settles the two of them into bed, expecting to spend the rest of the night staring up at the ceiling- it's quite pretty, all those stars- but soft hair suddenly brushes up against his chin. It's- nice, actually. The warmth that Magni produces flushed against his chest, the soft caress of his hair, the familiar freshness of his scent. It's all really,,,nice.
Axel drifts off to a peaceful sleep carried by the scent of fresh herbs.
