>>72642341consider this girl i posted for example
you probably don't know who this girl is
now would you pay for this very beautiful model though, even though you don't know her and have never seen her show?
and if you do know this girl, would you still pay for her figure despite her show being absolute shit?
now if i had posted a different girl, say asuka from evangelion, ofc that's a no brainer, because her show is great and her character is the archetypal tsundere, you will pay for her merch for as much as asuka has entertained you
now extend this logic to vtubers
no matter how great the model is, no matter how great the personality is, you still need that "connection" to the audience to make them pay
and how do you get that connection?
think about it
we tip delivery drivers because they provide an essential service, but vtubers are entertainment that's completely discretionary - how to foster tipping culture to them?
i'm not saying GFE (that's the dark side of the force so to speak, vtuber beware)
but appealing to unicorns/CGDCT is the ticket
you need to be endearing enough to oijisans to make them pay - fanservice and signing their songs goes a long way
you get it now?
